He has designed microprocessors at Intel Corporation, Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems, and Broadcom, and his passion for chips is reflected in his books on the subject. He began his hiking adventures as a wee tot on his father's back and has been exploring the mountains and deserts ever since.
