Edwards currently serves as a member of DART team, Disaster Assistance Response Team who deploys during disasters to assist individuals, families and communities during a disaster. Edwards is also a big proponent of \"giving back\" to all who helped during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. His new book \"Coming Through the Flames\" is a memoir dedicated to his children, some of whom did not get to see their dad as a fireman since he retired before their birth.
