If you were not raised in the south, this book will give you an idea of how we prepared food in Southern Arkansas. The community was known as Noxubee where she learned to draw water from a well, repair a tin roof, and cook from scratch. She attended Walker Schools until 10th grade then Emerson High School until graduation. She served in the Air Force and attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Agency Counseling. She enjoys researching the creativity and resilience of women in the rural south. She is the oldest of four siblings. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and sharing recipes.
