He was an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow with the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, from 1995 to 1996, and a visiting scholar with Yale University, USA, from 2001 to 2002. He joined Tsinghua University, China, in 1996, where he was promoted to full professor in 1997 and was the head of the Department of Automation, from 2008 to 2015. He was a vice president of Shandong University of Science and Technology, China, from 2015 to 2023. He is now a chief professor with Southeast University, China. He has authored and co-authored over 340 peer-reviewed international journal papers and 11 monographs in the areas of fault diagnosis, fault-tolerant control and operational safety evaluation. Dr. Zhou is a fellow of IEEE, IET, CAA and AAIA, a member of IFAC TC on SAFEPROCESS. He was a vice-Chairman of Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) from 2013 to 2025, and was also the NOC Chair of the 6th IFAC Symposium on SAFEPROCESS 2006.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDr. Miao Cai\u003c\/strong\u003e is a lecturer at Southeast University. He has authored and co-authored 11 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers on fault tolerance control and fully actuated system theory.
