He received his Ph.D. degree in Geology Engineering from the same university. His research focuses on geotechnical engineering and engineering geology, particularly soil mechanics for unsaturated slopes, rainfall-induced landslides and rock fracture.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eHuang Runqiu received Ph. D. degree from Chengdu Geology College. Now he is the director of State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironmental Protection. His research interests include slope stability and geological disaster. He has published more than 350 academic papers and 8 books.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eXu Li is currently a Professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University, China. He has received his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong. His research interests include the theory of numerical manifold method and its application and engineering, the design of geotechnical barriers, and slope stability analysis and slope stabilization.
