At he time of original publication, Professor Olkhovsky was pro-rector of the Murmansk Navigation School. He has written Oceanography in the Service of Modern Navigation with V. Dremling (as co-author), Radio Aids to Dead Reckoning, A Reference Handbook of Fishing Navigators (as editor-in-chief), etc. Tantsura was assistant professor at the Navigation Department of the Murmansk Navigation School. He has contributed articles on fishing oceanography to various periodicals. Yakovlev is an engineer at the Research and Development Sector of the Murmansk Navigation School.
