She is a social anthropologist who has produced a substantial body of work on the Japanese kimono industry and contemporary kimono culture. Her work has appeared in \u003ci\u003eHAU: the Journal of Ethnographic Theory\u003c\/i\u003e (2020), the \u003ci\u003eJournal of Material Culture\u003c\/i\u003e (2020) and \u003ci\u003eFashion Theory\u003c\/i\u003e (2018).
