Ponická, like most of her fellow artists, had neither read the \u003ci\u003eCharter 77\u003c\/i\u003e manifesto nor the text of the \u003ci\u003eanticharta\u003c\/i\u003e; she thus refused to sign. Her courage prompted the regime to terrorize her psychologically. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eThis political biography is the first ever written about Ponická, despite her being a household name in Slovakia.
