Author Biography
Hannah Brückner was born in Berlin and studied illustration at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. She completed her studies with the accordion-fold picture book Mein fantastisches Baumhaus (My Fantastic Treehouse), which won the German-French Youth Literature Award. Hannah Brückner lives and works in Hamburg as a picture book artist, author, and illustrator.
Laura Watkinson translates all kinds of books from German, Italian, Dutch, and Frisian into English. She enjoys reading and translating stories for younger readers, from picture books to YA thrillers. Three of her translated books have won the American Library Association's Mildred L. Batchelder Award. Laura lives in a tall, thin house on a canal in Amsterdam with her husband, their cat, and lots of shelves of lovely books.
