INTRODUCTION
Hello and welcome.
Positive Centered Art Therapy LLC presents Christ Centered - Christian Art Therapy TM (CCCAT) to help people better manage life's challenges. CCCAT merges art making with Biblical teachings, prayer and meditations along with thanksgiving to God in order to achieve the therapeutic benefits from His Word. The art activities consist of joyful, positive and Christian subject matters. CCCAT is based primarily on three Bible passages:
(1) Matthew chapter 6, where Jesus tells us not to worry but to consider the lilies and the flowers, which are beautiful and don't toil,
(2) Philippians 4, which encourages people to pray and to think on beautiful things to include the works done through Jesus Christ in order to obtain peace, and
(3) Isaiah 23:6, which explains that we will have perfect peace if we keep our minds on God as we trust Him.
The goal of this book is to aid in finding God's peace in order to reduce bad stress and to build resilience. CCCAT is for anyone who desires to focus on God and to place Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, at the center of their lives. These activities can also assist art therapists and clinicians whose clients desire the same goals as CCCAT. Art making may last one to two hours and can be continued in another session if necessary.
BENEFIT: The benefit of each art activity is to experience God's peace in the midst of stressors by focusing on His Word before, during and after the activity.
CCCAT never intends to make art for the purpose of worshiping artworks. The art you produce is meant to serve as mementos of your art experience and reminders of God's Holy Scriptures.
If we can't draw like Rembrandt, we can choose to draw anyway. Just think, we may not be able to win or even complete a marathon, but that doesn't discourage many of us from taking a stroll or jogging. The important thing is to relax and enjoy the experience. If assistance with art making is needed, there are 69 coloring pages at Appendix B.
For each activity, meditate on one or all of the scriptures provided in the section.End each activity with the general reflections at Appendix D.
Remember, Jesus Christ, our wonderful counselor, demonstrates His willingness to help with troubles (see Matthew 9). He gifts the Holy Spirit to sustain believers. Therefore, His Holy Scriptures are relayed throughout this book to remind Christians of the faith that can provide His peace during difficult times. All the best and peace to you, your family and friends while completing the artwork. I pray to Jesus Christ, our Lord and risen Savior, that you and yours endure and flourish as you manage stress well. Thank you for participating.
