Author Biography

David Friedman (Cariadoc of the Bow in the SCA) was a founding member and first king of the Middle Kingdom of the SCA, has served twice as king of the Middle and twice as king of the East, played a central role in the creation of Pennsic as the king who declared war on himself, and been active as fighter, period cook and researcher, jeweler, poet, storyteller, armorer, promoter of authentic and in persona activity, ... . Mundanely he is an academic economist who currently teaches in a law school and the author of five nonfiction books and two novels; his work has been favorably reviewed in the Times Literary Supplement, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and elsewhere. Elizabeth Cook (Elizabeth of Dendermonde in the SCA) is a musician, dancer, cook, researcher, cookbook translator, and herald, married to David Friedman.
