Author Biography
Shiv Gaglani has mentored over a hundred students on their test prep and admissions over the past decade. An MD/MBA candidate at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Harvard Business School, Shiv graduated from Harvard College in 2010 with highest honors and soon thereafter wrote a book for students interested in research (www.successwithscience.org). In high school he achieved perfect SAT (1600) and ACT (36) scores by using the strategies described in Standing Out. Shiv is a co-founder of the quickly-growing education technology company, Osmosis. Blake Cecil has a history of helping students succeed on the SAT and ACT. Under the alias silverturtle, he published a free guide on College Confidential that has earned over half a million views and received broad praise. Beside this, he has deep experience personally tutoring students on standardized tests and essay writing. He graduated first in his class from Normal Community High School in central Illinois and achieved perfect scores on the SAT (2400) and ACT (36). He attends Brown University and is a dedicated improvisational classical pianist. The chapter on AP and SAT Subject Tests was expertly contributed by Christian Fong, a senior at Princeton University who scored a 5 on twenty AP Tests and 800 on seven Subject Tests.
