These devotional meditations are a small attempt to connect the daily lives of nurses to the greater themes of the Bible and our Christian faith. Each of the Beatitudes from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is accompanied by a meditation, with "faith in action" questions to help the nurse apply the teachings of Christ to her daily walk.About the author: Ellen Rice, RN, BSN, studied nursing at Bethel University in Indiana. Her practice has encompassed acute care and community health in various settings. She is an alumna of the University of Notre Dame. Before being called into nursing, she developed content and sales proposals for major publishing houses, and assisted in editing Catholic Dossier and the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars Quarterly.
