Author Biography
Kelli Tennant is a former University of Southern California women's volleyball player. In 2007, she co-captained the team and led them to an NCAA semifinal appearance. Following that season, she retired from volleyball, as she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. As Kelli made her transition from athlete to "normal student," she experienced a great deal of despair, loss and sadness. Because of her experiences, she was encouraged to help other athletes looking for help in their own transitions. Over the past several years, Kelli has successfully made her way into the sports broadcasting industry as a television host and reporter covering the Lakers, Dodgers, Galaxy and Sparks in Los Angeles. She spent time since graduation writing The Transition in order to support her fellow athletes as they embark on their new lives, identities, and passions. She wholeheartedly believes it takes a team to help athletes successfully transition, and only together can they become well-adjusted former athletes that take take control of their lives.
