by Scott Robinson (Author)

Much of the discussion of freedom in the previous two volumes in this series focused on the human past and was, to some degree, abstract - though modern events did make appearances.

In this volume, the focus is primarily on the present - this third decade of the 21st century, when anti-democratic forces are rising not only in the Unites States but around the free world.

Specific events and situations will be more frequently referenced this time around, but won't be dwelt upon: this series is ultimately about ideas, and to the extent that real-world issues are discussed, it will be in the service of clarifying and developing those ideas.

Freedom is under attack. What does that mean? How is freedom eroded and discarded, historically and in the current moment?

And who, exactly, is attacking it? There are forces both within America and without going after freedom and democracy full-force, and the specifics of their efforts will be examined and analyzed.
