The telling of stories is a tradition in itself within the Liberian community. It is a skill, one reserved for a special class of people, storytellers. It is a culture within a culture. In many tribes, only trained people or the elderly told stories for educating or entertaining purposes. Anyone can tell a story, but only few can tell it well. This book follows in that regard. The stories range from personal to traditional and folklore. Within each story, the author embeds local customs, traditions and belief systems of various Liberian tribes. Author Biography
D. Othniel Forte is an educator, folklorist and an avid blogger. He has several books published and manages quite a few blogs and websites. He is the editor of the Liberian Literary Review. Mr. Forte and his family reside in the ASEAN region where he teaches Creative Writing and English as a Second Language -ESL.
