Loring was a veteran of the Seminole Wars, the U.S.-Mexican War, the U.S. Mounted Rifles, and was a general in the Confederate Army. This book tells the story of his time in Egypt, and his participation in Khedive Ismail's war against Ethiopia.
Author Biography
William W. Loring served as an officer in the armies of the United States, the Confederate States and Egypt. He was also an attorney, a Florida state legislator, a financier and a writer. A Confederate Soldier in Egypt was his only book. Loring died in New York City in 1886.
