During our days a child had to submit to the community's guidance and this supported parents in their role of grooming children, as the community performed a similar role as the parents. In life, you need to be focused, not to be derailed in this ever changing environment. ere are so many things that can potentially distract a person from his/her journey such as that of education, work or a good marriage. It is one's choice to remain on the track you may have chosen earlier in life. It paid me dividends to do odd jobs so that scarcity of jobs or money did not derail me from life's journey. is book tells a story of purposeful choices made on a journey of life which was full of tragedies and seemingly insurmountable di culties. Yet with focus, I managed to go through life up to this stage having overcome such encumbrances and become important in the country. It was an audacity to survive at all costs right from my childhood up to my political life and professional career.
