Marie Harris was born in Kentucky. Her family moved to Maryland when she was ten. The firstborn in a family of nine children. She started writing poetry at the young age of ten. An avid reader, she has always had a love affair with words. She has won numerous awards for her poetry and continues to challenge herself with writing daily. Writing gives her a sense of peace. She hopes that with her writing, she will positively touch her readers. Married for 58 years to her husband, Donald, they have two beautiful daughters, a handsome grandson, and a lovely granddaughter.
