Author Biography

Sandra Tankoos has been married for over 40 years. She is the mother of three adult children. She has a B.A. from Queens College and an M.A. from Long Island University. She worked as a school teacher for 11 years before leaving teaching to start her own business. Ms. Tankoos has been a successful entrepreneur for over 20 years, nevertheless, she has always felt that her real calling was writing. Upon her mother's death, Ms. Tankoos began to read through a family history left to her by her mother, Ettie. Ms. Tankoos was intrigued by what she read, and was motivated to put her mother's encounter with the "Evil Eye" into a book geared towards adolescent children. Although the book is fiction, it is based on a real adventure. Growing Family is Ms. Tankoos' first journey into the young adult literary world.
