It's 1939 in the small eastern Tennessee community of Mountain City and ten-year-old Earlie Lee has his hopes set on getting a harmonica for Christmas. The story follows Earlie and his family as they deal with his father, Caleb Lee's recovery from injuries sustained in an accident at the saw mill where he works.
