Author Biography

Rachel Stone is a Senior Lecturer in Education at Sheffield Hallam University. She has considerable experience of designing and facilitating online and blended learning in a variety of contexts, including as an e-tutor for staff employed by a fast-food chain; for Masters Level students at in higher education, and as an independent consultant commissioned to produce bespoke online interactive learning materials for a range of audiences. She is also currently involved in two research projects, one on teacher belongingness in online and face-to-face environments, and the other on observation and feedback in relation to teaching and learning online. Rachel is also the co-author, along with Sylvia Ashton, of An A-Z of Creative Teaching in Higher Education, published by Sage.

Dr Ian Glover is a Principal Learning Technologist and Senior Lecturer in the Digital Learning Team at Sheffield Hallam University and leads a team providing strategic and operational support and staff development for STEM related departments at the university, in addition to leading strategic projects and policy development for the whole institution. His Ph.D. research was in collaborative online learning and web annotation and he has since worked with teachers and provided academic development around the world. He has published on a wide variety of topics related to online learning.
