Ilan Shamir, whose name literally means "protector of the trees" has lived his life planting, celebrating and writing about trees. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, among the blue-green sage and deep blue skies. To repay the Earth for its generosity for providing paper he has planted over 100,000 trees thought nonprofit organizations in the US and Central America.
