The village of Grethamberg, nesting in the Austrian mountains, was a small enclave that rivaled many of the world's greatest financial centers in wealth and power. The patriarch, Alois Gretham, recognized that many in his family suffered from chronic or debilitating illnesses. It seemed to be a generational curse.
