When Sheriff Pat Garrett feels Billy the Kid has been given a raw deal by the governor of New Mexico by not extending amnesty to him the way he did the other participants in the Lincoln County War he decides he will give the Kid a break. Instead of hunting the kid down and killing him, Garrett hunts him down and tells him he'll let him go if he promises to change his name and leave the Territory. Billy agrees and he begins to search for a new way of life. Billy soon finds that changing his ways is not an easy thing to do and is soon involved in more trouble. When Billy meets the love of his life things start to look up. Can he find happiness and begin life a fresh? Only time will tell. A good read for Western fans.
