Author Biography
As a child, Hilary was drawn to the works of Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll, A.A.Milne, and other authors who used rhyming and creative wordplay to tell a story. Hilary has combined both her visual and language interests into a series of animal-themed alphabet books with a glossary in the back that makes it fun to learn new words. The handmade critters of Catabet, Elephabet, Alphabird and Arfabet move through the 26 letters with humor and playfulness that will delight readers of all ages. Hilary's artistic alter ego goes by the name Bunny with a Toolbelt, where she creates custom wedding cake toppers, nativity sets, and animals of all shapes and sizes from reclaimed wood. These sculptural objects have formed lives of their own in stop-action animations and children's books. Since her very early 20s, Hilary has made her living as an artist known to many for her large scale installation work for museums, galleries, and public and private collections around the world.
