by Nicholas Byrne (Author)

The Wicklow Hills are a unique part of Ireland with their own story to tell... unique and beautiful, whether in the scenery (it's often called the Garden Spot of Ireland), the history of the region, or the folk who reside there.

Here in this book are tales of subtle Irish humor, the sadness of life, the fright of the local witchcraft, the terror of the storms, and the love of the people who live here and share the events of their lives.

The power of these experiences has produced a culture of strength, courage and humor; of kindness and love of mankind; of gentleness within God's beauty.

Author Biography

Nicholas Byrne was born in 1937 in Tinahely, County Wicklow, Ireland, not far from the beautiful Vale of Avoca that Tom Moore made famous with his many lyrics and songs. Tinahely is equally as beautiful in its own way, boasting of fine stately homes, forest walks, hotels, and guest houses where the people are friendly and welcoming. In his retirement, Nicholas's writing career began with the compilation of his first book of original short stories and recitations. He continues to write historical fiction based on the unique spirit and lore of the provincial Irish culture.
