The same dark fate which befell the Basque composer Juan Crisóstoma
de Arriaga in his lifetime, ending his extraordinary career before he was twenty,
delegated him to relative obscurity after his death. Iberia's outstanding
classical composer has an audience restricted to a small number of music lovers,
and published studies of his life have appeared only in Spanish.
Author Biography
Barbara Rosen has a BA from McGill University, Montreal, a master's
degree from Harvard University, and has divided her time between
teaching and writing. Her first book, The Mews of London, published in
1982 by Webb & Bower, England, received an award from the London
Tourist Board.
