by Gary Snyder (Foreword by), Will Staple (Author)

In Arrows Go Thru Hearts - a collection by Will Staple of his published poems from 1970-1995 - readers are offered an edified peek at the evolution of an artist that is at once raw, adventurous, broken, beaming, sincere and shape-shifting. Readers of these poems will hear the changing of one poet's voice and state of mind, see the altering of style and substance of poetry lived from cabins to canyons, mountains, meadows, zendos and forests, through interactions with friends and lovers who remain, and those that have long departed.

Author Biography

Will Staple lives in a cabin in the California foothills. He grew up in Oakland under the shadow of the Beats, and attended UC Berkeley during the Free Speech Movement. From 1970 to 1995 Will published over 200 poems infused with the Grand Canyon and mountain forests on the sassy, sexy side of spirituality, filled with a sly humor, condensed form, depth of content, detailing the culture that left the cities in the 1970s for a more archaic path with a heart. Books published in this time period are: Passes for Human, Coyote Run, I Hate the Men You Sleep With, The Only Way to Reduce Crime Is to Make Fewer Acts Illegal, and Dr. Montoya's Medicine.
