Author Biography

Joe McAree is from Southfield, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He stays in close contact with his Dad, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and 11 nieces and nephews - most of whom live in Michigan. He graduated from University of Detroit Jesuit high school, earned a B.A.in business from the University in Detroit, and an MBA from Michigan State University. After becoming a CPA while working in the Detroit area, he traveled nationwide as an internal auditor for a national auto parts wholesaler, before moving to Seattle in 1980 at age 32. In Seattle he worked as an accounting manager for over 12 years before being laid off. In search of employment stability, he applied with the Federal government and accepted a position in 2002 as a Revenue Agent for the Small Business division of the IRS. After working there 3 years, he returned to the private sector in search of both higher compensation and lower stress. Joe is very physically active, and enjoys frequent day-hikes in western Washington, as well as local parks such as Bellevue Botanical Garden and Discovery Park. He stays socially active through Match.com
