Richard Foreman led the theatrical avant-garde in the United States and throughout the world since 1968, when he founded his Ontological-Hysteric Theater company in New York City. He has written, directed and designed more than fifty of his own plays both in New York City and abroad. He has received numerous OBIE awards, a Lifetime Achievement in the Theater Award from the National Endowment for the Arts, and a MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship, among other notable citations. This volume of plays includes: Bad Boy Nietzsche!, Now That Communism Is Dead My Life Feels Empty!, Maria del Bosco (A Sound Opera: Sex and Racing Cars), Bad Behavior, Panic! Author Biography
Richard Foreman founded the Ontological-Hysteric theatre in 1968. The theatre is currently in the historic St. Marks Church, where he rehearses and produced one of his new plays each year, each play performing for 16 weeks every winter.
