Birth (Paperback) - Paperback

by Aaron Van Donkelaar (Author)

Birth tells the story of an order of monks who dutifully end their lives in the service others, ferrying their prayers from this life to the next. Yet when one of the novices is denied this rite, he must choose whether to disobey his Order or to live in the uncertainty of God's silence. In a tale that spans both life and death, Birth explores a world where prayers feel unanswered and right action is unclear. It weighs the value of reason against of principals of faith, and ultimately asks how our sinful deeds can possibly work to fulfill the righteous will of God.
