This volume covers all of the Army's armoured and reconnaissance units, whatever their source. It thus contains some information on infantry units-in particular the Guards battalions converted to armour and the six motorcycle battalions of the 1939-40 period. However, complete detail on those units will be found in the later Infantry volume. This work also includes armoured units of the Royal Engineers and Royal Marines.
