Author Biography
The author was born on his parents' homestead in Carrizo, Rio Arriba county, New Mexico, in 1937. The youngest of eight children, he completed his university studies at the university of New Mexico in 1968. He entered the Foreign Service of the United States in 1969. He retired in 2002 after over 30 years of service.
