Chick-A-Dee - Paperback

by Tenaria Drummond-Smith (Author)

Chick-a-Dee loves to crochet, and a class trip to the Bronx Zoo gives her a brand-new idea. After meeting the turtles at the zoo, she asks for two pet turtles for her birthday. She names them Thomas and Tabitha, then uses her yarn and imagination to crochet a stuffed turtle inspired by her new pets.

When Chick-a-Dee shows her creation to her friend Maria, one turtle becomes the start of something much bigger. Her classmates want to learn to crochet, her teacher places an order, and Chick-a-Dee discovers that something she loves making can become a business.

Set in Brooklyn, Chick-A-Dee is an illustrated story about creativity, friendship, learning from the world around you, and young entrepreneurship. A story review quiz invites readers to revisit Chick-a-Dee's adventure.
