Dysfunction, neglect, and abuse were the constants of my childhood. While personally devastating, my experiences are hardly unique. The darkness that overtook me very nearly cost me my life - on multiple occasions. Fortunately, I was able to eventually move toward the light and make a meaningful life for myself. This book is an effort to describe the transformation that I experienced and how so many wonderful people have assisted me in ways both great and small.
