by Andrew Towning (Author)

From the Author of, 'The Constantine Legacy ', Shroud of Concealment and The Chimera Code. Andrew Towning once again brings together an action packed cliffhanger that moves at a relentless pace! This second edition (re-proofed and edited) of Dead Men Don't Bite is composed with intrigue, suspense and larger-than-life characters. Dead Men Don't Bite, sees Jake Dillon recalled back to London after a covert operation in Cuba by his stalwart boss, Edward Levenson-Jones. The order has come from former Prime Minister, Sir Lucius Stagg because an international crisis is looming. The wreck of a World War Two Nazi U-boat has been discovered in a subterranean cavern on the treacherous northern coast of the Channel Island of Jersey. It's exact location remains a mystery, as the man who made the discovery is deliberately mowed down on a crossing by a hit and run driver, leaving him in a deep coma. In the U-boat is Nazi gold bullion and the Spear of Destiny along with other long forgotten secrets. The Spear - a mystical spearhead, that has been chronicled throughout history, which Hitler believed bestowed upon him the power to be undefeated in battle. Dillon works tirelessly against the clock to find the U-boat, but French billionaire Hugo Malakoff wants to stop Dillon recovering the spear for H.M. Government, he wants to claim it and its untold powers for himself. Malakoff is a fanatical fascist, obsessed by power and the deluded vision of a New World Order. Sweeping from London to Jersey and back with ever-growing momentum, Dead Men Don't Bite brings together a remarkable set of heroes and villains in the most desperate struggle of their lives. It is a complex, brilliantly executed story of highly-explosive secrets, wartime betrayal and extreme danger above and below water.

Author Biography

Andrew Towning's books have all been republished, re-edited and re-proofed - lifting his work to a new level throughout the series of second editions of his first three novels. His writing talents bear more than an uncanny resemblance to the characteristics of the area in which he lives! Thrilling, gripping and exciting assets that include; treacherous coastlines, unpredictable weather conditions, dramatic tides and stunning beaches! His style can also be compared to Dorset's infamous Sandbanks peninsula where so much of the action in his Jake Dillon series of thrillers is set: rich, intriguing and inspirational. Andrew has written four Jake Dillon novels. He secured a New York publisher in 2006. His novels now are widely available through Amazon and fans of the Dillon series eagerly await a publish date for the next Dillon thriller! Andrew says of writing: "I had aspired to write just one novel for many years but as I'm a business owner, husband and a father of two, time was limited! I spent two years researching and writing my first novel The Constantine Legacy and another 18 months sourcing a publisher! "I have had four novels published (The Constantine Legacy, Shroud of Concealment and the Chimera Code) and now I have exciting plans for the next phase of my hero character, former Army Intelligence Officer, Jake Dillon's thrilling and unpredictable career!" Andrew says of the successes of his novels: "The books see Dillon travel internationally, with a constant theme through his links to Dorset, and to a lesser extent the Channel Islands. Those familiar with the area will recognise some of the more remarkable landmarks and countryside which I know bring my books to life even more!" The mere existence of Jake Dillon is thrilling, his lack of respect for the 'establishment', bare fisted determination and underlying integrity in the face of adversity make for a gripping series of novels - if you've enjoyed Le Carré, Brown or McNab - put Towning on your read list, his work is a cunning concoction of all three! Asked if he has subconsciously morphed any of his own characteristics through his pen to Dillon, Andrew modestly suggests that one asks his wife - however if his looks are to go by we bet they have more in common that he dares let on! Second editions of The Constantine Legacy, Dead Men Don't Bite, Shroud of Concealment and The Chimera Code are published by Andrew and are widely available online, book and Kindle.
