Author Biography

Alyssa Satin Capucilli is the award-winning creator and author of the Katy Duck series and the bestselling Biscuit series, which has sold over twenty-four million copies. A dancer as well as a writer, she lives with her family in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.

Shahrzad Maydani is an illustrator and storyteller living and working in Berkeley, California. She was raised in Africa by an Iranian mother and an English father, and she spent her childhood collecting and telling stories. She now spends her days frantically making up worlds to keep her toddler happy. Shahrzad is the illustrator of picture books Poetree and Always Sisters.

Alexis Romay is the author of two novels and two books of poetry. His essays and opinion pieces have been published by NBC News, World Literature Today, Museum of Modern Art, El Nuevo Herald, Latino Rebels, Hypermedia Magazine, Replicante, Letras Libres, and other outlets. He has written lyrics for Paquito D'Rivera and translated over forty picture books, as well as novels by Ana Veciana-Suarez, Margarita Engle, Miguel Correa Mujica, Meg Medina, Stuart Gibbs, and Adrianna Cuevas. He lives in New Jersey with his family.
