This history of the youngest town in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts was written in celebration of East Brookfield's 100th Anniversary. This book includes history of the area from the time of native settlers and the first English settlers who founded Quaboag Plantation and then the town of Brookfield. This is followed by a description of life in the "Easterly Village" of Brookfield and the events leading to the creation of East Brookfield as an independence town. Each section of the town is examined through newspaper accounts, town records, personal anecdotes and other historical records. Key events and businesses in the development of the town up to 2019 are included as are a variety of personal narratives and social media posts.
