Author Biography

Laurens Bensdorp is the founder and CEO of the Trading Mastery School. In his youth he traveled the world training whitewater rafting instructors, improving their instructor skills and overall performance, and developing contingency plans. Laurens' training was in high demand, and he has worked in Germany, Austria, Turkey, Israel, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Chile. In 1998, he founded his own adventure tourism company in Mexico and successfully sold his shares in 2000. In the same year, he was hired to manage a small specialist venture capital company in the Netherlands. This started his career in finance and helped him discover his true passion: trading and beating the markets. He began managing all of the company's investments, first reducing its risk profile. It was a great learning experience, but Laurens didn't like the corporate environment. From there, he spent a large part of his leisure hours training himself in trading and risk management. After years of endless study, he created a trading style that fit his personality, lifestyle, and convictions. He then dedicated a decade of his life to developing algorithm-driven automated trading platforms to maximize profits while limiting risk and keeping trading time to virtually zero. Starting in 2006, he had enormous success operating his family's accounts. Laurens was featured in Van Tharp's book Trading beyond the matrix, in which he explains how he transformed himself from a losing trader to a winning one. Outside of trading, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, collecting wine, skiing, and taking long walks on the beach. Through their personal foundation ("Fundación Albenco"), Laurens and his wife help disadvantaged children in Colombia to gain an empowering education. As a stockbroker who only needs your software and an Internet connection, you have the freedom to choose the location of your dreams. He has lived in eleven countries, speaks five languages ​​and currently lives with his family in the south of Spain.
