Author Biography

Garth Black has been a minister in the Church of Christ for over 60 years. He has served churches in Texas, Oklahoma, New York, Maryland, and California. For the past 37 years he has lived in Bakersfield, California. He has a degree in science from the University of Oklahoma and a master's degree in theology from Abilene Christian University. His master's thesis was titled "The Holy Spirit in the Life of a Christian." The first book he wrote on this topic sold over 30,000 copies, but has been out of print for 20 years. He has presented lectures on this topic (and other topics) at colleges and universities, including Oklahoma Christian University, Abilene Christian University, and Pepperdine University. The currently written work includes material from the first book, but gives a special emphasis to the action of the Holy Spirit as a source of power and strength as He dwells in every Christian.
