by Sam D. Raj (Author)
Rekha had everything: a beautiful family, a loving dog, adorable friends and a bright future in Chess. Then the floods hit Chennai like hell, in an instant, she lost almost her entire life. Stuck between life and death, between a happy past and an unknowable future. Rekha spends many miserable days all alone without her family. Once in her homeland, she was held captive, locked inside a run-down house day and night with little food and no hope of being released. Sick from polluted water, severely warned by her caretaker and abandoned by so many, she took her little courage and made a daring escape. Surprising and tragic, this is a loving, intelligent and ultimately uplifting story about living, playing, hope and mystery.
