Steven's nightmare life is a function of his mother's schizophrenic episodes and alienation from his father. In time, he deals with death in the family as well as his best friend, Mike. Everything takes a toll on his mental stability. In college, Steven meets lifelong love, Marie. As a new husband and with his father's death, Steven is forced to finally deal with his mother.
