John's Revelation is the most misunderstood book of the Bible. Even church fathers, Martin Luther, and other Protestant leaders questioned its inclusion in the Bible. The book of Revelation is not meant to be a complex puzzle itching to be solved. Rather, it is a first-century document that needs to be understood in the context of the Greco-Roman world while paying close attention to the hundreds of allusions to Old Testament Scripture.
Author Biography
Dan J. Harvey started his career in technology, working for a number of Fortune 100 corporations as a computer consultant, and finally as president of a value-added reseller of computer systems. He then began a second career as a professor of computer science while earning his PhD. He is now professor emeritus of computer science at Southern Oregon University. Since retirement, he has focused his attention on research related to biblical theology.
