Faces In The Clouds Inspired from everyday relationships of friendships, love and family, I hope that these poems speak to the innocence lost and experience gained from living. Falling in love, getting hurt and/or disappointed in relationships can create new truths and understandings. I have tried to use my awakenings, triumphs, and failures as catalysts for destroying distorted visions that society placed in my view. It is through these new perceptions that I have torn down images that project women in roles that they are expected, allowed or prohibited from playing. My words have allowed me the freedom to express my anger, frustrations, anxiety as well as my sexuality unapologetically. Dr. Wanda Macon, Retired
