David W. Whitehead, a resident of Orlando, is the founder of CryptoQuest, an organization dedicated to the investigation of all things "hidden" (Fortean phenomena, the paranormal, lost civilizations, cryptozoology, etc.) He majored in Archaeology, studied Cryptozoology and is one of the world's first Cryptoarchaeologists. He has investigated the hidden secrets of the swamps and rivers of Florida, numerous haunted locations, the jungles of Central America, deserts and tunnels of Peru and the crypts and castles of Europe. He is the Author of 5 books on anomalous phenomena and cryptoarchaeology and has written, edited and published numerous books on the history of the Pirates, Buccaneers and Privateers.
