Finding Fractions! - Paperback

by Anu K. Mani (Author)

At last, a graphic novel series on mathematics! Imagine reading a graphic novel on fractions that weaves in practice as the story unfolds! This book introduces children to fractions in a fun way using everyday examples. At the heart of these books is the well-known philosophy that stories stick. Revisiting topics are important and these stories will be easy to recollect. While some amount of practice is important, grasping of concepts through stories will drastically reduce the need for repeated practice on paper. Practice will happen spontaneously as mathematics is woven into everyday life. This novel, in a series of five novels, introduces fractions. A den of snakes discovers that there is something more to numbers. While playing a game, they wonder what to call something that is less than half. Their teacher introduces them to a new world of numbers called fractions. The snakes realize that fractions are everywhere, especially in their favorite places such as in a pizza shop or in a kitchen.
