by Philip J. Noordmans (Author)
FireStarter: The Holy Spirit Empowers is about the empowering work of the Holy Spirit. It is not about the fruit of the Spirit or the gifts of the Spirit but the empowering work of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8) in the Old Testament, the New Testament, and our day. It is an engaging account by an academic, Bible-believing Pastor of his journey from being a rigid dispensationalist to a balanced charismatic.
One of Phil's mentors summarized this book well when he wrote:
"Usually books on the Holy Spirit have good theology and biblical teaching, but render the Third Person of the Trinity impersonal, dull, and dry. They do not draw us into the author's lived experience.
Or, they are full of exciting experiences with the Holy Spirit, but they do not help us build a good biblical and theological foundation for understanding and cooperating with the Holy Spirit.
This book is a masterpiece of doing both. As you read, you will grow in personal experience as well as biblical understanding!" (Rev. Dr. Zeb Bradford (Brad) Long, Executive Director, Presbyterian Reformed Ministries International)
