This book originally published in 1969 from stories submitted by students at Samuel H. Hairston School in Henry County, Virginia, takes tales, superstitions, and traditions to weave a story about the folklore of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in piedmont Virginia.
Douglas G. Belcher holds degrees from Appalachian State University and UNC-Chapel Hill. He edited these stories from his students in 1969. Proceeds from this book will go to the Building Fund of the Bassett Historical Center.
