When she returns to her family home in Northern Michigan, she files for divorce and starts working for her father's trucking company as a long-haul driver. She works to recruit fellow drivers to help other victims to escape.
When she rescues a kidnapping victim, she appears on national news and receives a large reward. Her estranged husband sees the news report on television and comes looking for her to claim his share.
